Quickly turn your inexpensive balsamic vinegar into something amazing…

Balsamic ReductionOne the quickest ways to enhance a your dish is by drizzling it with something delicious. Balsamic Reduction is a sweet, tangy dressing that can be used for salads, roasted vegetables or even on ice cream. What your really doing with this is reducing the liquid to concentrate the natural sugars. Some people suggest adding a bit of sugar, but we think it’s not necessary.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup balsamic vinegar

Fig Sala

METHOD

Heat a sauce pan to MEDIUM and add the vinegar

Stir vinegar as it starts to simmer and bubble

Continue stirring until the amount has reduced (evaporated) by about half

Remove from heat and store in a jar or bottle for up to two weeks

TIPS

*Drizzle this stuff on almost any salad or vegetable dish.

*If you store it in the fridge, make sure you take it out at least 30 minutes ahead of time so it won’t be as thick and hard to pour.

*Try it on vanilla ice cream. Yes, really.
